January Jumbles

I don't believe that 'jumbles' is legally a word, but I just added it to my mental dictionary.
Jumbles (n): a compilation of events confined to a specific time period.

December and January were good. Here are some updates:
  • Hunter's saftey went well. I passed! Woo! Now I can purchase my combination license to put in for the buck drawing for hunting season this fall.
  • Fall 2012 Semester ended well. I'm very relieved to have it over with. The break was nice and Spring 2013 Semester starts on Monday (14th). I will be taking photography, nutrition, and jewelry. It'll be my last semester at SLCC with my graduation date of May 9, 2013. Boy am I excited! It's nice to have the date set.
  • Well December 21, 2012 came and went without the world ending. Not that it was in question before. Haha.
  • I bought my first firearm. It's a Remington 597 .22 long rifle. I love it. :)
  • Christmas was pretty busy. My mom and brothers didn't end up making it out this way, but I am sure they had a nice Christmas. My dad was here from Georgia for the week of Christmas. It was nice to see him. I was in STG the weekend of the 14th which was fun. We built gingerbread houses out of rice crispy treats. We exchanged some gifts as well. Nate got me a very nice hunting bow. I was extremely surprised and I love it. Nate and Connor came down to SLC the weekend before Christmas. We went ice skating (they had never been!) and went to see the temple square lights. We made some Christmas sugar cookies too! We had a lot of fun.
  • New Years was pretty uneventful. I was in STG watching Friends when the clock struck midnight. Reigning in the New Year was not as good as I suspected, but time is a marvelous thing. I am still anticipating 2013 to be a good year, whether it is the same as I had hoped or different. Life always has changes for us to adapt to.
  • I started a new blog for 2013. It's called Positive Perspiration. The idea of this blog is to put my fitness goals out in the open to help myself and others. I struggle with motivation and am hopeful that this blog will aid in keeping me motivated. https://positiveperspiration.blogspot.com (invitation only)
Well, that's pretty much it. Here are some pics from the holidays.

Countdown to Christmas!

It's official, 15 days until CHRISTmas! Time is surely flying!
Here in Utah we have had a pretty mellow winter. Last night we got our second (third?) real snowfall. For December 10th that is incredible!
Updates:
Finals week is currently in effect. One down, two to go. Thank goodness the semester is almost over, I'm getting burned out.
Thanksgiving was fun! I spent a week in Missoula, MT with my grandparents. It was great to see them! I also went up to Spokane, WA for a day to visit my uncle and his adorable family. :)
I have so many fun things planned for this Christmas! I am very excited! This weekend I will be heading down to STG! We will be making gingerbread houses, going shooting, exchanging some christmas gifts, and spending time together! It's going to be great! After this weekend, back to work. No school, luckily, until the start of Spring semester on Jan 14th. So that'll be a nice break. The weekend of the 21st Nate and Connor will be headed towards SLC. We are going to go ice skating (nate and connor have never been! whaaaat!?), to see the Temple Square lights, and enjoy some classic christmas movies with more gifts to exchange. My mom and brothers will be in town that weekend as well. I'm excited for them to all meet Connor. :) My dad will be getting in town from Georgia on Christmas eve night. That'll be loads of fun. I'm sure, though, that he will not at all enjoy our wintery weather compared to Georgia's musky humidity. ;)
I have been working towards my hunter safety lately. I have finished all of my online coursework and learned a ton!! The anticipation is building as well as my excitement for a new interest that I never thought that I would have. :) My written test and field day is at the beginning of January. I'm looking forward to it so I can put in for the buck drawing in Feb with the Atwoods.
Things with Nate and I are super fantastic! I love him lots!

Other than Christmas plans, hunters safety, and finishing up the semester, there's not a whole lot that's new. Until next time... love ya!

November November!

Time is absolutely flying!! October came and went and it is now November! A lot has occurred since the last post. School has been going well. I cannot believe there are only 6 weeks left in the semester! Registration for Spring Semester is tomorrow. I will be attending two health classes (prereqs for nursing), a jewelry class, and a photography class. It'll be my last semester at SLCC and the last semester before I obtain my associates degree in May. :)
Work is going well still. Same old same old.
Nate and Connor were here this last weekend. We had sooo much fun! We went to The Living Planet Aquarium, went to the movies, took photos at the park, colored some old-school felt posters, and just enjoyed our time together.

Here are some of the photos I took of them at the park!

I cannot believe how quickly Christmas is approaching!!! I am taking a week off of work in November to go up to Montana with my mom and brothers. I am definitely looking forward to the break and spending time with my family. Thanksgiving is such a warm family-oriented holiday. The weather has been far from winter-like (Knock on wood). It has been extremely nice for November in SLC. I am enjoying while it lasts.
The rest of this month and next are going to be extremely eventful. I am anticipating them to fly by as quickly as the rest of this year has.
Well, until next time.. :)
